Our gear is all hand-made and we strive to ensure 100% satisfaction with every order.
Mako collars and leashes are made from BioThane Webbing. We use Beta and Gold BioThane. BioThane is a coated webbing that is waterproof, easy to clean, and fade resistant.

Beta BioThane vs Gold BioThane?
Beta BioThane is a coated webbing superior to leather. It has a soft, easy to grip feel. It is pliable even in extremely cold weather.
Gold BioThane is thermoplastic polyurethane webbing. It has a smooth and glossy feel and offers translucent colors.

How Do I Measure My Dog?
WIDTHS - If your dog's neck is 14 inches or less, or they're a delicate breed, we strongly recommend going with the 3/4" width strapping. BioThane is a thick material and we use all solid metal hardware, so our collars are a bit heavier than a standard nylon and plastic collar that you might find in a pet store. If your pup is a toy breed, our gear may not be the best option for them given the weight and thickness.
BUCKLE COLLARS - Measurements are based on where the holes are placed on the collar. So the Large for example, is listed as fitting dogs with a neck size ranging between 16 and 21 inches, which means that there are holes placed evenly at 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 inches from the buckle. We generally recommend that you choose a size that will fit your dog on one of the middle holes, so that there's a little wiggle room on either side for coat and weight changes. If you don't see a good fit for your pup from our standard sizes, please message us about custom sizing!
SLIP COLLARS - Please measure carefully as these are custom made for your pup, and non adjustable. The measurement you give will be the entire inner circumference of the collar when sitting relaxed, not pulled tight. Measure your dog's neck with a soft measuring tape (a piece of string marked where it meets the end and then measured will also work). For the best fit with slip collars, measure your pups head at the widest point (behind the ears). Take that measurement and add 2 inches. This will ensure there is enough free space to get the collar on and off. Example: If your dog has a 17 inch head measurement you will order a 19 inch collar. Please make sure to double check you are ordering the correct collar size. We do not return or exchange slip collars.
How Do I Care For My Gear?
Wipe your gear with a damp rag or wipe for everyday dust and dirt.
To do a deeper clean, fill a bowl with soapy water and soak your gear for a few minutes, then wipe your gear down with a sponge, rinse and towel dry.
Pro tip - you can throw your biothane gear in the dishwasher on the top rack- just avoid the high heat or sanitizing cycle.
For stubborn patches, use some rubbing alcohol directly on the spot, then wipe with a cloth, a sponge, or a toothbrush. Magic Erasers also work well for stubborn smudges.
Do You Offer A Warranty?
Mako gear is built to last. All of our handmade collars and leashes are backed by our lifetime warranty. All of our gear is built to withstand any adventure you go on, but sometimes things happen. This warranty is made to cover hardware/material/and assembly defects. It does not cover misuse or damages (Chewing!) caused by you or your pet.
If you have a repair/replacement request, please fill out the warranty claim form. Once we recieve your claim form, you will be contacted by us asking for pictures of the issue. If the product is eligible for the lifetime warranty then it will be fixed or replaced free of charge. We do not cover the shipping cost back to our shop. That is the responsibility of the buyer. Please allow 7-10 business days for us to repair/replace the item once we have received and reviewed the issue.
What Is The Return Policy?
We want you to love your gear as much as we do! If you don't, you can return it within the first 14 days for a full refund (minus shipping and/or processing fees). Once we receive your returned order your refund will be issued. We will not offer returns on custom made products (if we design gear specifically for you, or engrave it). If you order the wrong size on one of our regularly offered collars, you may exchange the product for the correct size at your expense. We can also offer a refund on a cancelled order minus all processing fees.
